Remembrances

Having been a DP for over 25 years I have travelled all over the USA and the world on many and diverse assignments. From The frozen edges of the North American Continent to the jungles of Brazil or Vietnam, there have been experiences that have shaped my life profoundly. There have been times of joy, times of fear, times of happiness, and all others you could imagine in between, which for some reason I can't at this moment articulate. Articulation does not come easy to me, written or oral, perhaps that is why I became a photographer: a way to translate what I see and how I feel, what I think is my place in the universe into some tangible form others might understand.  Sometimes I forget the places I've been, the people I've met, the emotions I've experienced through the lens over these many years. So now, and over the course of this blog, there is an opportunity to add some photos and thoughts from projects past, a bit of remembrance and form of translation of this life before I get too old to remember anything. Enjoy...

Just returned from a three week documentary shoot in Jamaica for German Public Television. Started out in Kingston, and continued shooting in various areas based around Ocho Rios and Montego Bay, including the Blue Mountains. All around a very successful shoot.

Your's truly at work in Mooretown, in the Blue Mountains.

In Mooretown, home of the Maroons, we shot a traditional ceremony at the monument of Nanny, the famous Maroon Queen and leader. Here I get atop the monument to gain some elevation:
